SOUND ON 01/08

SKANAM at Sound Manor 360 is a series of public events dedicated to spatial sound and contemporary musical thinking. Each SKANAM evening is a specifically defined event centered around the listening experience in a surround sound concert hall.

The event is curated by composers and sound artists who have resided at Skaņu Muiža 360 and created their works right here — working with the acoustics of the space, sound placement, and the sound of this place. During SKANAM evenings, artists present complete or partial works created during their residency.

Unlike larger daytime events in nature, SKANAM is a concentrated cultural experience - no picnics, no wandering around the area, with full attention to sound and the listening process.

Event time:

The event starts at 4:00 PM, the area opens to visitors one hour before the event.

Focus:

• surround sound in a concert hall

• new, site-specific works

• presentations of composers' residency results

• listening as a central experience

Important:

Animals are not allowed to enter the territory.
